Portsmouth

My goodness, I have been remiss!  It is already Wednesday, June 26 and we are on our way to Stonehenge this morning.  We had a great 3 days in Portsmouth.  We looked at or toured ships from Henry the VIII’s Mary Rose to modern British naval vessels.  It was interesting to follow history through ships 🚢! We also spent a day learning about D-Day from the British perspective.  The D- Day museum did an excellent job and we really left with a better understanding of the impact that this operation had on England as well as the world.  There was a power standing on the earth where my father, as well as thousands of others, stood before loading on ships to the beaches of France.  I had not anticipated the emotion that this experience brought.
